1. GOAT– $17M/$58.3M
After finishing second last week, Sony Pictures Animation’s roarball comedy GOAT moved into #1 with $17M, overtaking Wuthering Heights. The domestic haul after two weeks is $58M, with $102M globally. The hope for Sony is that it will have legs similar to Disney’s Zootopia 2 which remains in the top 10 after an incredible 13 weeks of release.
2. Wuthering Heights– $14.2M/$60M
Emerald Fennell’s steamy adaptation of Wuthering Heights dropped 56% and fell to #2 this week with $14.2M and a $60M domestic number. Overall, the Margot Robbie/Jacob Elordi romance has $151M worldwide.
3. I Can Only Imagine 2– $8M
Lionsgate’s faith-based sequel I Can Only Imagine 2 opened soft with $8M in 3,105 sites. That’s 53% less than its hit 2018 predecessor opened with. Rotten Tomatoes score was 62% critical, while audiences loved it with a 98% on the popcornmeter. No surprise at the vast disparity there.

6. How to Make a Killing (review)- $3.5M
Glen Powell’s star seems to be fading quickly after another disappointing debut, this time for A24’s How to Make a Killing which opened to just $3.5M in 1,625 theaters. The dark comedy about a guy who murders his family in order to gain an inheritance, only managed a 49% critical score on RT and 77% on the popcornmeter, so word of mouth didn’t help.
