Box Office: ‘Scream 7’ Stabs Its Way To Franchise High $97M Global Debut

  1. Scream 7 (review)- $64.1M

Critics be damned, Scream 7 opened to a franchise domestic high $64.1M from 3,540 screens. This is despite a 34% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics, and just 78% on the Popcornmeter. Fans were still invested in the fate of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, and any talk of a “boyscott” due to the firing of Melissa Barrera seems unfounded. Globally, the long-running horror earned an additional $33M, another high, for a total of $97M.
