‘100 Nights Of Hero’ Trailer: Queer Fable With Maika Monroe And Emma Corrin Opens This December

Julia Jackman’s historical romance 100 Nights of Hero is just the latest folktale adapted for the big screen from One Thousand and One Nights, the Middle Eastern collection that has been read the world over for centuries. The film stars Maika Monroe, Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine, Felicity Jones, Charli XCX, and Richard E. Grant, with the story centering on a married woman whose fidelity is tested by a charming suitor secretly hired by her husband.

The film is written and directed by Jackman. She previously directed the Josh O’Connor-scripted musical romance Bonus Track in 2023. Jackman adapted the graphic novel by Isabel Greenberg, which reimagines the tale as a queer love story.  Reviews have been strong since the world premiere at Venice earlier this year, with the film currently at 100% by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

SYNOPSIS: When her neglectful husband departs after placing a secret wager to test her fidelity, Cherry (Monroe) and her sharp-witted maid, Hero (Corrin), must fend off a dangerously seductive visitor: Manfred (Galitzine).

100 Nights of Hero opens in theaters on December 5th via IFC.
