Filming is about to begin on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Sony Pictures is marking the occasion by hyping up Peter’s new costume. The new teaser doesn’t reveal the entire costume, but it shows enough that we can tell it will have a sleeker design, raised webbing, and a darker shade of red.
All of that makes sense when you consider where Peter Parker is at right now. He’s been wiped from the memories of everyone he loves, and is all by himself for the first time. We know this next movie will involve “street level” crime-fighting, so gone are the slick, high-tech suits designed by Tony Stark. This new costume is simple in design to reflect that.
Along with Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Jon Bernthal will make his MCU feature film debut as The Punisher. Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are new additions to the cast. Charlie Cox is expected to reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil from Spider-Man: No Way Home and Daredevil: Born Again. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are expected to have smaller roles as MJ and Ned.
