A Quiet Place is back in a big way. John Krasinski is confirmed to direct A Quiet Place Part III, with Paramount Pictures setting a July 9th 2027 release date, right in the heart of summer blockbuster season. Krasinski confirmed the news on social media.
Krasinski will direct, write, and produce the film, although it’s unclear if he will return in front of the camera, too. His character was killed off in the first smash hit film in 2018, but reappeared in flashback in 2021’s A Quiet Place Part II.
Part III will likely continue the storyline involving Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe’s characters. Along with Krasinski, they are a family attempting to survive in a world overrun by alien monsters that hunt with super-hearing.
That said, the recent prequel spinoff, A Quiet Place: Day One, was a $261M hit so they might want to try and find a way to incorporate some of its characters. Joseph Quinn is super popular right now from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, for instance. Djimon Hounsou appears in the main storyline and the prequel as Henri, leader of an island clan of survivors. He seems a shoo-in to return.
