‘Black Panther 3’ Reportedly Set For February 2028 Release

Do we finally know when we’ll be returning to the land of Wakanda? In a recent Variety report, Ryan Coogler was said to have ideas “percolating” for Black Panther 3, creating excitement around Marvel Studios. While the film has yet to be officially announced, Jeff Sneider revealed on The Hot Mic that a February 2028 date is being eyed with a production start in early 2027.

There is an untitled MCU movie set for February 18th 2028, and that sounds like a perfect fit. If true, Black Panther 3 would be the kickoff to the next Phase following Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027.

We don’t know much about the film yet, but if Denzel Washington is to be believed, he’s already got a role in it. As who? We don’t know. Does it even matter? It’s Denzel we’re talking about. He could play Machine Man and I’d be okay with it. One of the big questions swirling around the next film is whether to continue with Letitia Wright’s Shuri as the central character.  There are good arguments to go either way.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was back in 2022, and while it was a huge hit with $859M, it failed to equal the critical or box office success of its predecessor in 2018 which earned $1.3B and won three Academy Awards.
