If you recall Chris Rock’s comedy Top Five in 2014, it was absolutely loaded with big names who showed up for roles big and small. By the sound of it, Rock’s next film behind the camera, Misty Green, will be just as stacked with big names.
With filming underway on the tentatively titled Misty Green, Deadline reports the cast includes Adam Driver, Anna Kendrick, Rosalind Eleazar, and Daniel Kaluuya. Rock will direct, write, and star in the film about a gifted actress whose derailed career is given a new lease on life thanks to a person from her past. Eleazer, best known for her role in Slow Horses, will play said actress.
Since winning an Academy Award for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah, Kaluuya has starred in Jordan Peele’s Nope, otherwise, he’s been keeping on the down low. Driver was last seen in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megaolopolis and has Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother later this year, followed by James Gray’s Paper Tiger. Kendrick recently made her directorial debut with Woman of the Hour, and starred in Another Simple Favor.
Don’t be surprised if Rock and A24 add more celebs to the Misty Green cast.
