The 2018 Camp Fire grew to become the deadliest wildfire in California history. So how did a bus driver and his young passengers escape this disaster with their lives? That incredible story is told in Paul Greengrass’ The Lost Bus, starring Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera.
Directed by Greengrass from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brad Inglesby (Out of the Furnace), The Lost Bus stars McConaughey as the heroic bus driver who risked all to save the students and teachers from the blazing inferno.
The film is Greengrass’ first since he directed News of the World five years ago. He’s also known for being at the helm for most of the Jason Bourne franchise, and for directing acclaimed films Captain Phillips, 22 July, and United 93.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Blumhouse’s Jason Blum are among the producers, having optioned the film rights in 2022.
