- The Fantastic Four: First Steps (review)- $118M
The fourth time was the charm, it seems? It was clobberin’ time at the box office for Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which opened to a solid $118M domestically. That’s about the same as what Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Spider-Man: No Way Home did in their opening frames, and both of those critical favorites went on to do huge business. While the stateside number is slightly less than the $125M debut of Superman a couple of weeks ago, Fantastic Four‘s $218M global haul is slightly higher. Critics were impressed, as well, with it holding an 88% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes along with 93% from audiences.
