‘The Thursday Murder Club’ Teaser: Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, & Ben Kingsley Are Retirees On The Case

Netflix has chosen Thursday to be when they drop the first teaser for The Thursday Murder Club, a fun mystery thriller and adaptation of the global bestseller by Richard Osman. And what makes this movie different from other whodunnits? Well, the stellar ensemble of British talent led by Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and more.

Directed by Chris Columbus (his second Netflix film after The Christmas Chronicles 2) from a screenplay by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote, The Thursday Murder Club follows a group of retirees who solve local murders for fun and pleasure.

Also in the cast are Celia Imrie, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant and Ingrid Oliver.

Let’s see…one of those folks is clearly guilty of something. My money is on Grant, he’s always up to something.

SYNOPSIS: Based on Richard Osman’s international bestselling novel of the same name, THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB follows four irrepressible retirees – Elizabeth, Ron, Ibrahim and Joyce – who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. Osman is about to publish the fifth book in the series, so expect that if viewers tune in for this one, it’ll launch a franchise for Netflix.
