‘The Home’ Trailer: Pete Davidson Stars In New Horror Film From ‘The Purge’ Creator

Pete Davidson’s post-SNL career has been extremely busy. And while he decided against a second season of his Peacock series, Bupkis, he’s got a busy 2025 with three movies. Already he had a voice role in the animated hit, Dog Man, and he has the Eddie Murphy comedy The Pickup arriving in August, followed by David Michod’s anticipated stoner comedy, Wizards! But before those films arrive, Davidson has horror film The Home, from The Purge creator James DeMonaco.

As seen in the new trailer, The Home stars Davison as a troubled young man who is forced to work community service at a retirement home, only to discover something sinister with the residents and caretakers.

The film also stars John Glover, Bruce Altman, Ethan Phillips, and Marilee Talkington.

This is DeMonaco’s first movie since 2021’s nostalgic This Is the Night. DeMonaco is the creator of The Purge and directed three movies in the horror franchise, writing two others as well as the short-lived TV series.

SYNOPSIS: In this horror thriller from the creator of The Purge, a rebellious twentysomething is sentenced to community service at a quiet retirement home. The residents on the fourth floor are strictly off-limits, said to require “special care.” As his suspicions grow and he digs deeper, he uncovers a chilling secret that puts both the residents’ lives and his own in grave danger.

The Home opens in theaters on July 25th via Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.
