‘Good Fortune’ Trailer: Keanu Reeves Is A Budget Guardian Angel In Aziz Ansari’s New Comedy

Aziz Ansari is hoping to have better luck with Good Fortune than his previous attempted directorial debut, Being Mortal. That film, you may recall, got shelved in 2022 due to allegations against Bill Murray about inappropriate behavior during production. Ansari has since moved on, and this time his efforts are going to pay off when the film hits theaters in October.

Good Fortune is written, directed, produced, and features Ansari in a lead role. Also in the cast are Seith Rogen, Keanu Reeves, Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Stephen McKinley Henderson. The story follows a budget guardian angel, charged with helping those who text and drive, as he meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker and a rich guy who takes his wealth for granted.

SYNOPSIS: In Good Fortune, a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).

After finding tremendous success with his role in Parks and Recreation and Master of None, Ansari faded from the spotlight after he became a flashpoint during the #MeToo movement. He’s been steadily coming back over the last couple of years, but Good Fortune marks his biggest move yet. We’ll see how it plays out for him.

Good Fortune hits theaters on October 17th via Lionsgate.
