‘Split Fiction’: Sydney Sweeney To Star In Video Film Directed By Jon M. Chu

EA’s adventure video game Split Fiction is one of the best-reviewed games of the year. And now it’s about to become a major Hollywood feature with some huge names attached. Variety reports Sydney Sweeney will star in the film from Wicked director Jon M. Chu and Deadpool & Wolverine writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Split Fiction is a cooperative action-adventure game centering on two authors, Zoe and Mio, who become trapped in the sci-fi/fantasy worlds of the stories they’ve written. Really cool premise.

It’s unclear which of the characters Sweeney will play, and we probably won’t know that for sure until her co-star is cast.

EA released Split Fiction in March and it was an instant sensation on consoles selling more than two million copies in the first week.

Sweeney has a lot coming up already. She’ll be seen next in Ron Howard’s survival thriller, Eden, followed by Echo Valley opposite Julianne Moore. She also has an untitled Christy Martin biopic, and Paul Feig’s The Housemaid. Also coming up for Sweeney is a third season of HBO’s Euphoria. This could be just one potential franchise for her as she recently entered talks to star in the live-action Gundam film from Legendary and director Jim Mickle.
