‘Andor’ Final Season Trailer: Diego Luna Is Back As War With The Empire Looms

On the one hand, it’s a bit sad that Andor, arguably the most critically-acclaimed of Disney’s Star Wars shows, is wrapping after two seasons. There’s a lot more that could be done exploring the political side of the war against the Empire, and the evolution of Rebel spy Cassian Andor into a true leader. On the other hand, it’s been a long wait and show is back for what are sure to be twelve incredible episodes, taking Andor right up to the fateful events in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Tony Gilroy, who some call Rogue One‘s savior, returns to complete the story he began with season one. Beginning one year later, and spanning Andor’s next four years, the season is broken down into four arcs of three episodes each.

SYNOPSIS: The second season of “Andor” takes place as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested, and as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound. Rife with political intrigue and danger, the series is a prequel to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which portrays a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans for the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction—The Death Star—setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film. “Andor” sets the clock back five years from the events of “Rogue One” to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation from a disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.

The series co-stars Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Alan Tudyk, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, with Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker.

Andor season two hits Disney+ on April 22nd with a three episode premiere.
