I have to tell you, movies about imposing governments and civil war hit a bit close to home right now. There’s definitely something in the air, and we’re starting to see it in the movies, as is so often the case. The latest is All the Lost Ones, Mackenzie Donaldson’s post-apocalyptic thriller about a trio of survivors who must fight against a militia force in a divided United States following a civil war.
The film marks Donaldson’s sophomore effort after The Definites. She was also a producer on the long-running series Orphan Black.
SYNOPSIS: A future civil war is sparked by government-imposed measures due to climate change. Nia, her sister Penny, and her boyfriend Ethan are hiding out when a militia leader and his followers arrive on their doorstep.
Leading the cast are Jasmine Mathews, Vinessa Antoine, Douglas Smith, Devon Sawa, Sheila McCarthy and Steven Ogg. This being a Canadian production, many of the actors will be recognizable to our friends (former?) in the north, but new here in the U.S. It could also be the film that helps make Donaldson a known commodity.
Epic Pictures Group will release All the Lost Ones in theaters on April 18th with a VOD release on April 22nd.
