‘Stitches’: Angelina Jolie To Lead Fashion Week Film From Director Alice Winocour

Angelina Jolie is back in the Best Actress race for her performance in Maria (review here), and that’s likely to keep her busy for the time being. As she doesn’t take on a ton of roles these days, anything Jolie selects is a big deal and that goes for her next film, Stitches, from director Alice Winocour.

Variety reports Jolie will star in Stitches, playing a filmmaker whose life intersects with two other women during Paris Fashion Week.

Winocour is the French filmmaker who broke out with Augustine in 2012. She went on to direct Matthias Schoenaerts in Disorder, and to co-write the acclaimed coming-of-age drama Mustang. Her most recent movie, 2019’s astronaut drama Proxima, starred Eva Green.  Stitches will mark her English-language debut.

Maria marked Jolie’s first movie in three years, so it’s good to see her taking on something new this quickly. Stitches will shoot early next year in Paris.
