M. Night Shyamalan is one of the biggest names in horror and suspenseful thrillers, so attaching it to anything means a certain level of expectation. It should draw some attention towards Caddo Lake, a new MAX thriller that Shyamalan is attached to as a producer. After debuting the teaser a couple of weeks ago, the first full trailer has been revealed.
Starring Dylan O’Brien and Little Women star Eliza Scanlen, Caddo Lake finds two people drawing connections between their family and the many murders and disappearances at the titular location.
Also in the cast are Diana Hopper, Caroline Falk, Sam Hennings, Eric Lange, and Lauren Ambrose. Scanlen previously worked with Shyamalan on Old.
It’s been a busy year for O’Brien, whose film Ponyboi debuted at Sundance in January. He’ll play Dan Akroyd in Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night.
Previously titled The Vanishings at Caddo Lake, the film was shot back in 2021 by the director duo of Celine Held and Logan George, who also wrote the screenplay. The filmmaking pair won awards at Venice and SXSW for their debut feature, Topside, in 2020.
MAX will premiere Caddo Lake on October 10th.
SYNOPSIS: When an eight-year-old girl mysteriously vanishes, a series of past deaths and disappearances start to link together, forever altering a broken family’s history.
