‘Blood On Snow’: Aaron Taylor-Johnson And Tom Hardy To Star In Crime Thriller From Cary Fukunaga

We haven’t seen much from Cary Joji Fukunaga of late, but allegations of sexual misconduct and grooming don’t appear to have derailed his career for long. The No Time to Die director is making his comeback film with Blood on Snow, and already he’s got two A-listers attached to star. It’s almost like nothing happened at all!

Deadline reports Fukunaga will direct Blood on Snow, an adaptation of the crime novel by Jo Nesbo about a hitman whose own moral code prevents him from assassinating his boss’ wife, despite his boss being the one who hired him. This decision makes the hitman a target of his boss’ vengeance.

Leading the cast will be Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Tom Hardy, a powerhouse duo that is sure to put some eyes on Fukunaga’s film. The duo are both part of Sony’s Spider-Man Cinematic Universe; Hardy as part of the Venom franchise and Taylor-Johnson in Kraven the Hunter.

Nesbo is the popular Norwegian crime novelist whose films have been adapted multiple times, including Headhunters, The Snowman, and this month’s Killer Heat. Nesbo will be writing the Blood on Snow screenplay himself, which should make fans of his work very happy. Filming begins later this year.

SYNOPSIS: Hoffman’s trusted hitman, Olav (Johnson), is a cold, efficient killer, perfect for the job. But beneath his ruthless exterior lies an unexpected intelligence and an unwavering moral code shaped by a complicated childhood…When Hoffman orders his own wife to be murdered, Olav’s principles clash with his loyalties. Instead of pulling the trigger, he hatches a scheme that makes him Hoffman’s next target and with nowhere safe to turn, Olav forms an uneasy alliance that places him at the heart of Oslo’s deadly gang war. Once a violent enforcer, Olav’s choice makes him an unlikely hero in a world where no good deed goes unpunished.
