James Spader Will Return As Ultron In Marvel’s ‘Vision’ Series

Anyone who has read Marvel Comics knows that Ultron is one of the most resilient villains the Avengers have ever faced. Having him only be a threat in the MCU’s Avengers: Age of Ultron simply wouldn’t make sense. Of course he was always going to come back! And it looks as if we’ll see him return in Marvel’s tentatively-titled Vision Quest series on Disney+.

THR reports that James Spader will return to voice Ultron in the upcoming Vision series starring Paul Bettany. It makes sense considering Ultron created Vision in ‘Age of Ultron‘ and they share a lot of the same programming.

The series will follow White Vision, who was created by SWORD during the WandaVision series. Made out of Vision’s spare parts, he is initially sent in to kill the Vision of Scarlet Witch’s creation, but begins to question his programming after being confronted with a paradox.

If drawing plot elements from the original Vision Quest storyarc from the 1980s comics run by John Byrne, we’ll see White Vision attempting to reconnect with the humanity and memories of the original Vision.

Popular Star Trek: Picard and Nightflyers showrunner Terry Matalas will guide the show, with production expected to begin in early 2025. That means a likely arrival in 2026 along with the upcoming Wonder Man series.
