‘In A Violent Nature’ Sequel Announced Today At San Diego Comic-Con

Today at San Diego Comic-Con I attended the Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror panel, attended by David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil), Akela Cooper (M3GAN), and In a Violent Nature producer Peter Kupolowsky.  After a question from a fan, Kuplowsky revealed that a sequel to the hit indie slasher film is indeed in the works.

Kuplowsky didn’t reveal much, but he did show a teaser image from In a Violent Nature 2. He also revealed that writer/director Chris Nash will return and is working on the script.

The concept is a slasher horror from the eyes of the killer. Think Friday the 13th from the perspective of Jason Voorhees. In A Violent Nature finds a vengeful corpse rising from the grave when a locket is removed, and he goes on a blood quest  against everyone until he gets it back.

The first movie ended in an homage to the conclusion of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with one character escaping with her life, but does anyone really ever escape in these movies?

Hopefully there will be more details to come. I was a big fan of the first movie and am eager to see what Nash does with a sequel. You can check out my interview with Nash here.
