‘The Duel’ Trailer: Dylan Sprouse And Callan McAuliffe Fight To The Death In Dark Comedy Arriving In July

It’s always painful to be betrayed by a friend. Nowadays, the response might be to unfriend them on social media, but sometimes that’s just not good enough. Sometimes you need something more definitive; like a gentleman’s duel to the death. And that’s what faces Dylan Sprouse and Callan McAuliffe in the new R-rated dramedy, The Duel, from Upgraded writers/directors Justin Matthews and Luke Spencer.

Sprouse, who is also aboard as an exec-producer, plays Colin, who faces the wrath of his former friend Woody (McAuliffe) for having an affair with his girlfriend. It’s decided that classic duel to the death, an honor duel, is what’s needed. As more of their buddies get involved, the once tight-knit group find the bonds of their friendship tested.

Also in the cast are Denny Love, Hart Denton, María Gabriela De Faría, Rachel Matthews, Christian Mcgaffney, Ronald Guttman, and Patrick Warburton.

Sprouse said in a statement, “I couldn’t be more proud of the film we created. In the past I’ve been reluctant to attach myself unless I wholeheartedly believed in the project, and The Duel was exactly that for me. I believe this marks the beginning of a long-lasting collaboration with the immensely talented Justin Matthews, Luke Roberts, and Zach Spicer and look forward to bringing more projects to the wonderful state of Indiana.”

The Duel will release as a one-night-only theatrical event in partnership with Iconic Events on July 31st, 2024. You can get tickets now right here!
