Critics Call Alex Garland’s ‘Civil War’ The “Movie Event Of The Year’ In One Final Trailer

The war is about to begin. Alex Garland’s anticipated (and apparently final film as a director) Civil War hits theaters in two days. I have to admit, I skipped our screening due to post-WrestleMania fatigue, but am looking forward to Garland‘s thrilling, perhaps terrifying, look at a conflict that tears the country apart.

One final trailer has dropped to highlight all of the glowing reviews from critics, with some even calling it the best movie of the year. It’s a bit early for those claims, but the sentiment is clear. Civil War is a movie not to be missed.

The cast is led by Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Nick Offerman, with Jesse Plemons, Sonoya Mizuno, Jefferson White, and Karl Glusman.

Here’s the synopsis: From filmmaker Alex Garland comes a journey across a dystopian future America, following a team of military-embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend upon the White House.

Civil War opens in theaters on April 12th via A24.
