Quietly one of the biggest international releases of 2023, The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan is a new take on Alexandre Dumas’ swashbuckling 19th-century novel. And with stars the caliber of Vincent Cassel, Eva Green, Romain Duris, Louis Garrel, and Vicky Krieps, it’s no wonder the film has been a big global hit in theaters and streaming. But it’s also the start of a franchise, with two TV shows already in the works, and a sequel,The Three Musketeers – Part 2: Milady, which opens in theaters next month.
Already released in France to big box office and strong reviews, Milady shifts its focus to Eva Green’s Milady de Winter who continues her conflict with D’Artagnan and the Musketeers.
Along with the aforementioned international stars, the cast includes François Civil, Pio Marmaï, Lyna Khoudri, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Eric Ruf, Marc Barbé, Patrick Mille et Julien Frison, and Ralph Amoussou. The film is once again directed by Martin Bourboulon.
Here’s the synopsis: From the Louvre to Buckingham Palace, to the gutters of Paris, to the siege of LaRochelle. In a kingdom divided by religious wars and under threat of British invasion, a handful of men and women will battle and tie their fate to that of France.
The Three Musketeers – Part 2: Milady opens exclusively in theaters on April 19th.
