‘Beetlejuice 2’: The Ghost With The Most Will Return In September 2024; Justin Theroux Joins Cast

The ghost with the most is coming back, whether you say his name three times or not. Warner Bros. has set Beetlejuice 2 for September 6th 2024. The long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 film will reunite the filmmaker with star Michael Keaton.

A sequel has been in the works for years as fans clamored to see the miscreant Beetlejuice again. The first film earned $75M and helped solidify Keaton as a superstar actor. He would reunite with Burton a year later on Batman.

Wednesday and Scream star Jenna Ortega is part of the cast, as well, playing the daughter of Lydia Deetz, who was played by a young Winona Ryder in the original movie. Ryder is also expected to return, and she’ll be joined by new addition Justin Theroux. His role is unclear, as are details of the story. Theroux can be seen right now on HBO’s White House Plumbers series.

Mike Vukadinovich wrote the most recent script, although previous versions over the years were penned by Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. [Deadline]
