‘Wish’ Trailer: Ariana DeBose, Chris Pine, And Alan Tudyk Star In Disney’s Latest Animated Fantasy

One of the big pieces of news to drop at CinemaCon yesterday was that Chris Pine had joined the voice cast of Wish, Disney’s next magical animated feature film. And now today Disney is following up that announcement with a brand new trailer that features Pine as the voice of King Magnifico!

As seen in the new footage, Wish takes place in a land where wishes do come true. It tells the story of how the wishing star that so many Disney characters have wished upon, came to be. Oscar winner Ariana DeBose voices 17-year-old Asha, who wishes upon a star to save her kingdom from a coming darkness. DeBose also performs the song, “This Wish”, which you can hear in the trailer and is one of many new songs written by Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice.

The always-reliable Alan Tudyk voices Asha’s favorite pet goat, Valentino. Behind the camera is Oscar-winning Frozen director Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, known for her work as head of story on Raya and the Last Dragon.

Wish opens in theaters on November 22nd.

In “Wish,” Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico—to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.
