Patti LuPone Reveals Marvel Role In ‘WandaVision’ Spinoff ‘Agatha: Coven Of Chaos’

When you’re a legendary actress like Patti LuPone, you don’t give a damn about keeping Marvel secrets. What’re they gonna do? Blacklist you? Of course not. LuPone, who was recently seen heaping tons of guilt on Joaquin Phoenix in Beau is Afraid and has a role in the upcoming WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, just let it fly who she’s playing in the Marvel series. Again, what’s Kevin Feige going to do about it?

LuPone revealed to The View

“It’s a coven of witches, and I play Lilia Calderu, who apparently is in the Marvel world,” said LuPone. “I researched her, she’s hot, she’s really hot, she’s got a great body and hair. I didn’t know there were witches, I didn’t know anything about the Marvel world. There are witches in the Marvel world. So, we are a coven of witches and the witches are: Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, and the Familiar — if anybody knows ‘Heartstopper’ — is Joe Locke.”

“I play Lilia Calderu, a 450-year-old Sicilian witch whose power is divination and whose trial is tarot. It’s very interesting. I think it’s going to be fantastic.”

I mean, there’s not a ton of research to do on Calderu, but she definitely is an established Marvel character. Calderu is queen of the Gypsies, and keeper of the powerful Book of Cagliostro which contains mystical passages from the Darkhold, y’know, the powerful book that would later corrupt Scarlet Witch in the MCU. Calderu was also once a wearer of the mystical Serpent Crown, and it would not be surprising to see it pop up.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to hit Disney+ later this year or in 2024.
