‘Good Fortune’: Seth Rogen And Keanu Reeves To Star In Aziz Ansari’s New Directorial Debut

After off-set drama with Bill Murray got his previous film shut down, Aziz Ansari is rebounding. Lionsgate has announced Ansari’s latest project, Good Fortune, which he will write, direct, and star in. Not only that, but he’ll be joined by Seth Rogen and Keanu Reeves.

Good Fortune will now be Ansari’s directorial debut, and a lot of eyeballs are going to be on it to see if it gets off the ground. Plot details are being kept a secret for now, but the cast is enough to get excited about.

Ansari’s previous film, Being Mortal, ran into problems due to sexual misconduct allegations against star Bill Murray. Searchlight dropped it, and Ansari unsuccessfully tried to find it a new home. Now, he’s cutting his losses and moving on. Probably the smart thing to do.

Joe Drake of Lionsgate said, “We have indeed found good fortune with this film. We love the script and believe strongly in Aziz as both a performer and a director. And when you add in Seth and Keanu – two incredible world-class talents — toplining alongside Aziz, this has the potential to be a very special film for us. We moved quickly to land this project once it was available.”
