‘Doctor Strange 2’: Ryan Reynolds Promises Deadpool Isn’t In The Marvel Sequel, But Is He Lying?

Marvel fans have been eager for any information on the return of Deadpool, and the recent Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer has really lit a fire. You’ve probably seen it; speculation that a voice heard during a scene is actually that of Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier, leader of the X-Men and thus the first appearance of mutants in the MCU. It’s not confirmed, obviously (and frankly, I refuse to believe Marvel would give that away even slightly), but it has people asking Ryan Reynolds if we might see Deadpool in the film, too.

Reynolds, while speaking with Variety about his upcoming film The Adam Project, swears Deadpool isn’t in Doctor Strange 2. Should we believe him? Ehhhhh….

“I guess I’m really not supposed to say anything about that, but I’m really not in the movie…I could be an unreliable narrator, but I’m promising, I’m not in the movie.”

I feel like that film is going to be packed with so many awesome debuts (Captain Carter!!) that shoving Deadpool into it isn’t necessary. Let him have the spotlight to himself whenever Deadpool 3, which is in development now, finally releases. It’s worth noting that rumors swirled that Deadpool would show up in Spider-Man: No Way Home and that didn’t happen.
