‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Trailer: Nintendo’s Favorite Plumber Finally Hits The Big Screen This April

Nintendo is rightfully jumping in with both feet like a big ol’ Koopa Stomp in pushing their Super Mario Bros. Movie. The iconic video game plumber’s debut feature film is a really big deal for the company, and they are sparing no expense in making sure we feel like it’s grabbed a power-up mushroom. Today, Nintendo held the second Nintendo Direct dedicated entirely to the movie, revealing a brand new trailer with a ton of never-before-seen footage and plot details.

Taking us to the Mushroom Kingdom and all the way to Rainbow Road, the film finds Mario and Princess Peach on an adventure to rescue Luigi from Bowser’s clutches. And to do that, they’ll have to cross many dangers taken from the many Mario Bros. video games, including Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., and even Wrecking Crew.

Chris Pratt has taken some heat for voice Mario, which is ridiculous. He’s joined by Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Jack Black as Bowser.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and opens on April 5th.
