Henry Cavill On What He Hopes Fans Get From His Superman Return

The conclusion of Black Adam made it clear; Henry Cavill is back as Superman. Cavill would go on to confirm the news himself, and honestly, it shouldn’t have taken this long for Warner Bros. Discovery to get this shit right. He’s a great Man of Steel, and a sequel to that film is long overdue. Man cannot survive on Batman alone.

Cavill is through the roof at returning to the role, and spoke about it with Screen Rant

“There is so much in the way of conversations to be had,” explained Cavill. “Obviously, I have a very close connection to the character. And there is something extraordinarily special about him; extraordinarily special about his capacity to give and to love. I don’t mean romantically; I mean his love for Earth and for the people who live here, and to make people feel powerful—to make people feel like Superman themselves.”

The fans have been clamoring for this, and Cavill spoke about what he hopes they get from his future films as Superman…

“I have plenty of desires for this, of course, which will be discussed more in time. But the most important thing, which I will be aiming for, is for the audience to leave the cinema and to feel like they can fly, to feel like they can protect, and to feel like they want to give to everyone else. That would be my goal.”

Pretty cool. It remains unclear where and when we’ll see Cavill’s Superman next. Man of Steel 2 is probably a long way off since there isn’t even a director yet. But Black Adam seemed to be setting up a showdown, and maybe we’ll see that first? I’m hoping he pops up in the next Wonder Woman or Aquaman movie, as well.
