Henry Cavill Joins Kevin Hart In McG’s Spy Action-Comedy For Netflix

Following a string of box office duds, Henry Cavill is returning to the safety of Netflix for an untitled spy action-comedy opposite Kevin Hart.  The film will be directed by McG, best known for his Charlie’s Angels movies.

Based on Sean Lewis’ short story, the film centers on two rival spies who cross paths at Lamaze class when their wives become friends. This causes the agents’ double lives to collide in funny and dangerous ways as they are both set to become fathers.

The script will be written by Adam and Aaron Nee and Jonathan Tropper. Tropper is a frequent collaborator with producers Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds, having worked with them on The Adam Project. He also wrote the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter for Levy to direct. The Nees wrote Masters of the Universe, which is in theaters now.

Cavill could most recently be seen in Guy Ritchie’s In the Grey alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza Gonzalez. Next up for him is Enola Holmes 3, continuing his run as Sherlock Holmes in one of Netflix’s most popular franchises. Of course, Cavill also starred in the streamer’s hit series The Witcher before bowing out after season three. [Deadline]
