Directors For ‘Andor’ Season Two Revealed By Showrunner Tony Gilroy

We’re in the home stretch of Andor‘s first season, with just three episodes left. And I think based on the critical response it can be called a total success. Work is already gearing up for season two and the final batch of twelve episodes, and now we know the directors that will be manning the ship.

Speaking with Collider, showrunner Tony Gilroy revealed the three directors handling blocks of episodes in season two will be Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios. Of the three, Metz is probably the biggest name, having recently directed spy thriller All the Old Knives.

However, it’s Kleiman who will get the bulk of the work, directing six total episodes across two separate blocks tied to specific storylines. Kleiman has a sizable resume of TV credits, including Top of the Lake and Yellowjackets.

Ruizpalacios has previously worked with Andor star Diego Luna on episodes of Narcos: Mexico. He also directed 2021 documentary Cop Movie, and has the upcoming feature La Cocina on the way.

Not returning for season two are directors Toby Haynes, Susanna White, and Benjamin Caron, who will go on to work on other projects. Caron has coming up the Apple TV+ comedy-thriller Sharper with Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan.
