Marvel’s ‘Armor Wars’ Is Now A Feature Film Starring Don Cheadle

Marvel has been pretty vague when it comes to their Disney+ series, Armor Wars, other than it’ll see Don Cheadle suit up as James “War Machine” Rhodes once again, and possibly tie-in to the Ironheart and Secret Invasion shows. And perhaps now we know why they’ve been so quiet, but it’s no longer a series at all, but a movie.

That’s right, Armor Wars is now a feature film penned by Yassir Lester, who was set to be the series’ head writer. No word on who will take over as director since that job will now go to one person rather than an entire group.

According to THR’s sources, the “studio was committed in getting the story told the right way and in that process realized that a feature was better suited for the project.”

I take that to mean something about the show wasn’t clicking, which may also explain the relative silence.

So with this change, Armor Wars is going to take a bit longer to get going, but should start production sometime next year.
