‘Dumb Money’: Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan, And Pete Davidson Join Gamestop Stock Movie

Remember when Gamestop was on the tip of everyone’s tongue because of the stock short squeeze that paid off big time, turning so-called “underdogs” into millionaires? Well, that moment in time is long since passed, but Hollywood is ready to start making movies about it. A few months ago Cruella director Craig Gillespie signed on to direct an adaptation of Ben Mezrich’s bestselling book The Antisocial Network, and today he’s lined up one Hell of a cast.

Newly-titled Dumb Money, the film now has Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan, and Pete Davidson leading the cast. Damn. Just looking at it, you can tell this one’s probably going to lean in on the laughs, but at this point all four have proven capable of dramatic work when called for it.

There are a lot of reunions going on here. Gillespie recently directed Rogen and Stan in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy miniseries. Dano, who just played Riddler in The Batman, will star with Rogen in Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans. Davidson is coming off the A24 horror Bodies Bodies Bodies.

Dumb Money seems poised for an awards season release next year, so keep an eye out for it.[Deadline]
