‘Ash’: Tessa Thompson And Joseph Gordon-Levitt Join Sci-Fi Film From Producer Neill Blomkamp

One of the more intriguing sci-fi projects we’ve learned about this year, Ash, has now become must-see viewing. THR reports that Thor: Love & Thunder‘s Tessa Thompson and The Dark Knight Rises‘ Joseph Gordon-Levitt will star in the film from exec-producer Neill Blomkamp (District 9) and rapper/filmmaker Flying Lotus aka Steven Ellison.

Penned by Jonni Remmler, Ash stars Thompson as “a woman who wakes up on a distant planet to find the rest of the crew of her space station viciously murdered. She has to decide whether to trust the man (Gordon-Levitt) sent to rescue her. During their investigation into the killings, however, he begins to wonder if she is as innocent as she pretends to be.”

Ash begins shooting in New Zealand next year, and will have original music composed by Flying Lotus, as well.

Gordon-Levitt will be heard-not-seen as the voice of Jiminy Cricket in Disney’s Pinocchio. Thompson can be seen right now in the latest season of HBO’s Westworld.
