‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Trailer: A Nightmarish New Threat Emerges While The Gang Is Divided

The wait is almost over. Three years since the last season came to a close, the trailer for the first volume of Stranger Things season four is here. And in keeping with the jumbo-sized season ahead, the footage suggests one Hell of a nightmarish epic for the kids and adults of Hawkins, Indiana.

Here’s the rub: key parts of the adventure won’t be in Hawkins, at all. There’s, of course, the plight of Jim Hopper, presumed dead for like five minutes, going through something awful in Russia. Other sections of the story will take place in California, where the Byers clan are now setting up shop.

So how is the gang supposed to lean on one another to stop this new threat from the Upside Down if they aren’t even in the same location? Coming together as a team is what this is all about.

Stranger Things season 4 Vol. 1 hits Netflix on May 27th, followed by Vol. 2 on July 1st.
