Apple TV+’s upcoming series The Essex Serpent is another sign that we are truly living in a golden age of entertainment. The competition between streaming giants has meant that not only are we getting some truly wonderful content in a multitude of places, but that A-list stars are signing on to be a part of it. The new series, based on a popular novel, stars Claire Danes, Tom Hiddleston, Frank Dillane, and Clémence Poésy, to name a few and follows a widow who moves to Essex, England to investigate reports of a mythical beast. Now, logic didn’t exactly rule the mob back then (or now) so when bad things start to happen the new arrival gets the blame for inciting this ancient evil. Danes may play the lead but Tom Hiddleston, who plays the village vicar, is sure to be the dramatic lynchpin as is evident from the scenes we get a peak at here.
Look for The Essex Serpent on Apple TV+ on May 13th.
