‘Avatar’ Sequel Titled Revealed, Trailer To Run Exclusively With ‘Doctor Strange 2’

James Cameron has given up a large chunk of his career to the Avatar franchise. The first film is in 2009 wasn’t just technologically groundbreaking, but it stands as the highest-grosser of all-time.  While the film hasn’t really been part of the cultural conversation since, Cameron has spent years developing four sequels, which we can expect to be even greater in scope.

During Disney’s presentation at CinemaCon, it was revealed that the first Avatar sequel will be titled Avatar: The Way of Water. Now, that title matches one that was rumored, along with a few others, back in 2018. This suggests that the rest of them are accurate, as well, but like I said it has been a few years.  I hated those titles, by the way, and they are Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider, and Avatar: The Quest For Eywa.

Starring Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, and Kate Winslet, Avatar: The Way of Water opens December 16th.

By the way, the original Avatar will return to theaters on September 23rd. A smooth move by Disney to introduce the hit film to an entire audience who may have been too young to remember it.
