‘The Sandman’ First Look: The Endless Finally Come To Netflix In 2022

Longtime devotees of Neil Gaiman have seen his profile rise significantly of late. With the need for so much content out there, adaptations have been frequent including Good OmensAmerican GodsCoraline, and now you can add The Sandman to the list. After what seems like an Endless wait (pun intended), with prior feature adaptation attempts led by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Huh??), Roger Avary, and others, it’s Netflix that finally made it happen as a series.

Tom Sturridge leads the way as Morpheus, ruler of Dreams and the one who will restore order to the surreal realm known as The Dreaming. Good luck, because he’ll also be contending with Lucifer, played by Game of Thrones and Star Wars actress Gwendoline Christie.

The series is developed by Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman), working alongside David Goyer (Man of Steel) and Gaiman who is taking a more active role than he usually does with adaptations of his work.

Also in the cast are Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook because he’s in every Netflix project, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Jenna Coleman, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death.
