Colin Jost And His Bro Casey To Co-Write New ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Movie

Because going too long without a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie knocks the planet off its axis or something, Paramount is launching a new one. And no, it’s not the animated reboot led by Seth Rogen. This one will be the brainchild of SNL writer Colin Jost and his brother Casey, who will pen the latest adventures of the pizza-scarfing turtles.

Deadline has the news on the Jost brothers writing the next Ninja Turtles movie. It’s unclear if this will be connected to the most recent films, 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and 2016’s Out of the Shadows. The first one made over $500M and looked to be the start of the blockbuster franchise, however, the far-superior sequel only managed about half that total. Sad.

All of the same producers are still involved, including Michael Bay, which suggests this could be the third leg of a trilogy. We just don’t know. A lot of people had issues with the bulky look of the Turtles in those films but I dug it and would be down for more. Maybe Jost will recruit some SNL pals to voice them? You know he’s going to give himself Michaelangelo, right?
