Brendan Fraser Joins Scorsese’s ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’, Plus The Latest From ‘Palm Springs’ Director

Somebody has flipped the switch on Brendan Fraser’s career, right? The actor who has been talked about a lot lately thanks to Jungle Cruise comparisons to his The Mummy movies in the ’90s, has just snagged two plum gigs for directors Martin Scorsese and Max Barbakow.

First the big one, and that’s a role in Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. He joins Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, and Jesse Plemons in the adaptation centered on the series of murders against the oil-rich Osaga tribe in the 1920s, sparking the creation of the FBI.

Fraser’s role is unclear, but you can add it to what has been a series of high-profile projects for him. He recently appeared in Steven Soderbergh’s No Sudden Move, and had a role in the Danny Boyle series Trust, not to mention voicing Cliff Steele in Doom Patrol.

You can also add Brothers to Fraser’s upcoming slate. The comedy is coming from Palm Springs director Max Barbakow, and the details on it are slim. Fraser joins a cast that includes Peter Dinklage, Josh Brolin, eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close. The film is shooting right now, and has a script by Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) and Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel At Home in this World Anymore), making it all the more exciting. [Deadline]
