We all turn into our parents, there’s no avoiding it. At some point between the age of 25 and 40 a day comes where you start saying “No” to things you wouldn’t have thought twice about when you were younger. Allison (Jennifer Garner) and Carlos (Edgar Ramierez) decide they’ve had enough of “No!” when it comes to their three kids and decide to grant the youngins’ a “Yes Day”, 24-hours where the kids are in charge and the parents can’t say no. Immediately the thought of this gave me a panic attack thinking of how my own rugrats would take advantage of that scenario. From what we can gleam in the trailer below Yes Day is going to be a silly, fun, if forgettable, family movie. I’m a big proponent of these films. Not everything has to be someone’s all-time favorite, there’s plenty of space for movies that let you sit down and enjoy a quiet Saturday night with the family all together sharing some real laughs. I’m most excited to see Edgar Ramirez (The Undoing, Hands of Stone) take on this slapstick variety of comedy, I’ve always been a fan of his but his roles are always stoic and super-serious. Add in Jennifer Garner who has a track record of solid performances in silly, unoffending, roles and Fortune Feimster, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite comedic character actors, and I think we may have another winner from Netflix’s OC generator.
