‘Hunter Hunter’ Trailer Promises a Deadly Game In The Deep Woods

The just released trailer for IFC Midnight‘s Hunter Hunter has me drawn in like a deer to a salt lick. First, I love a good Hollywood redemption story, and from what I’ve seen this has the potential to be just that for the films leads Devon Sawa and Nick Stahl. Sawa, redemption may not be the word…he’s just been absent the last few years but Nick Stahl, oh boy what a story. Back in 2003 he was on the cusp of superstardom as John Connor in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, then something happened and he was so far off the straight and narrow he couldn’t find the road if he tried. Devon Sawa plays Joseph Mersault, patriarch of a family that lives in the deep woods and makes his living as a fur trapper. When people start getting picked off and mangled he leaves his family to hunt the whatever is stalking the wood.  I have so many questions but am going on the impression that whatever is stalking and murdering is not a wolf, I’m going to bet it’s Nick Stahl. We can see his character is off to be sure, and I think this may be just the type of role he’s best suited for, and the one that will show us why we need him back in film.

Check out the trailer below and look for Hunter Hunter December 18, 2020 in select theaters, on DVD and on demand.
