‘Texas Chainsaw’ Directors Fired And Replaced After One Week Of Production

There have been no shortage of Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, and we’re probably going to see plenty more. It always seems like a new one, usually some kind of reboot or revival, is in the works, and sure enough, one was recently announced with Evil Dead‘s Fede Alvarez producing with Legendary. Well, with production only one-week old, there are already problems on set. Big enough that the directors have been fired.

Deadline reports filming on the Texas Chainsaw sequel has been postpone for a week as they have removed its directors, Andy and Ryan Tohill. The duo, known for their 2018 film The Dig, have been let go due to “creative differences”, with the studio not liking what they saw over the first few days of shooting.

Production will begin from scratch with a brand new director, David Blue Garcia, known for his indie film Tejano which aired on HBO.

The new Texas Chainsaw will be a sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic, similar to what we saw in the recent Halloween movies. But with things already off to a shaky start, and a new director coming in for the biggest gig of his career, it’s gotta be tough to have confidence.
