‘Come As You Are’ Trailer: Three Disabled Men Go On A Sex-Fueled Roadtrip

What happens when three disabled men and their no-bullshit traveling nurse walk into a brothel? It sounds like the setup for a joke, but it’s the plot of Come As You Are, a road trip comedy based on the critically-acclaimed 2011 Belgian comedy, Hasta la Vista.

The trio of dudes are played by Grant Rosenmeyer, Hayden Szeto, and Ravi Patel, with Gabourey Sidibe as their nurse. In order to escape their overbearing parents and establish some independence, the disabled men hit the road for a Montreal brothel that caters to those with special needs. Okay, so it’s really about three guys looking to lose their virginity.

It’s a plot we’ve seen a million times before, but never quite like this. The Intouchables does follow a similar path, centering on a paralyzed man looking for a new lease on life. When that film was remade into The Upside I think we all were a little worried it would lose what connected people to it in the first place, but actually turned out pretty well. Let’s hope we will be able to say the same thing about this remake.

The film is directed by Richard Wong with a script by Erik Linthorst and a co-starring role for Janeane Garofalo.

Come As You Are opens on February 14th 2020.

‘Tenet’ Trailer: Christopher Nolan’s Reveals His Ambitious Time-Bending Espionage Film

What’s worse than a nuclear holocaust? I don’t know, but John David Washington is trying to stop it in Christopher Nolan’s super-secret film, Tenet. He’s been keeping quiet on any concrete details, and even upon viewing the new trailer it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on. But this is Nolan we’re talking about here, so expect it to be huge.

What begins as an espionage film apparently spans many different genres, according to recent statements made by Nolan. Judging by this footage, look for elements of Inception (rumored to have a story connection), Memento, and perhaps even Interstellar. Time travel and memory are clearly big pieces of the puzzle. This is a far cry from what he did with 2017’s excellent WWII film Dunkirk.

This is a huge production, the most ambitious of Nolan’s career with a budget of over $225M and shooting locations in seven different countries. Those who attend certain IMAX showing of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will get an extended 70mm preview, as well.

Also starring Robert Pattinson, Michael Caine, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh, Clémence Poésy, and Dimple Kapadia, Tenet opens on July 17th 2020.

‘To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You’ Trailer: Peter Might Not Stand A Chance

So when we last left Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) at the end of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, they had finally stopped pretending to like one another and decided to get real. Then some guy named John Ambrose McClaren (Jordan Fisher) showed up with one of her love letters, and we knew it wasn’t going to be that easy for poor Peter. Well, it’s not, because he’s got some serious competition in  To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.

In the anticipated sequel to Netflix’s beloved romance that won over everybody, even dudes like me who normally hate these movies, we see that Lara is literally tripping over herself in front of John Ambrose. Yeah, she’s shook and may never recover. Peter’s screwed. I’m not sure she’ll remember his name by the end of the movie.

Taking over as director is Michael Fimognari, a cinematographer on the prior film. It caused a bit of a stir when Susan Johhnson was replaced, but she remains on board in a producer role.

To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You hits Netflix on February 12th 2020!

‘The Woman In The Window’ Trailer: Amy Adams Unravels In Joe Wright’s Latest Thriller

With no major projects on the big or small screen, 2019 was a quiet one for Amy Adams. However, she remains one of the most accomplished actresses around, and already 2020 is shaping up to be a big one with the mystery-thriller The Woman in the Window, from Darkest Hour director Joe Wright.

Adams leads an incredible cast that includes Oscar-winners Julianne Moore and Gary Oldman, Brian Tyree Henry, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tracy Letts, Wyatt Russell, and Anthony Mackie. It’s the most impressive lineup Wright has ever assembled, and that’s saying something. The film is based on the A.J. Finn novel about an agoraphobic child psychologist who suspects foul play in the disappearance of the neighbor she had been spying on.

What’s interesting about this film is that its production has been the subject of some mystery. An October 2019 release was scrubbed after a run of seriously poor test screenings, causing Disney to send it back for retooling.

It’s reminding me a lot of The Girl On the Train, an awards-hopeful that turned out to be a dud, I’m curious whether we’re looking at a similar situation. Wright has done some incredible films, including Atonement, Hanna, and Anna Karenina…but he’s also the guy who gave us Pan.

Even the plots share a lot in common. I guess we’ll find out when The Woman in the Window opens on May 15th 2020.

SYNOPSIS: In “The Woman in the Window,” a psychological suspense thriller directed by Joe Wright, an agoraphobic child psychologist befriends a neighbor across the street from her New York City brownstone, only to see her own life turned upside down when the woman disappears and she suspects foul play. A stellar ensemble cast brings Tracy Letts’ screenplay based on the gripping, best-selling novel to life, where shocking secrets are revealed, and no one—and nothing—is what it seems.

Netflix Is Launching A Second ‘Masters Of The Universe’ Animated Series

Because one Masters of the Universe series (and a She-Ra series) isn’t enough, Netflix is ready to drop one more on us. Netflix has announced the CG-animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which is not to be confused with Kevin Smith’s anime series Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

Here is the show’s synopsis: On the planet of Eternia, a young lost prince discovers the powers of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man, Master of the Universe! The classic battle between He-Man and evil Skeletor rages to new heights as both hero and villain forge new and mighty teams. A new generation of heroes fighting for the fate of us all. In the end, who will become Master of the Universe?

The new series will be exec-produced by Adam Bonnett (Descendants), and is just a small part of a He-Man revival going on right now. There’s still a live-action movie in the works starring Noah Centineo, Mattel is launching a new line of toys next year, plus an upcoming comic book. That’s a lot of He-Man, and if we’re lucky, also a lot of Stinkor.

‘Fast & Furious 9’ Trailer Release And Live Concert Set For Miami In January 2020.

How big of a Fast & Furious fan are you? If you can’t get enough of Dominic Toretto and his team of vigilante street racers then Miami is where you’re going to want to be on January 31st 2020. That’s the day when the trailer for Fast & Furious 9 will have its world premiere, alongside a live concert with some of the biggest musical acts in the world.

The trailer for Fast & Furious 9 drops on Friday, January 31st 2020 in Miami, Florida. It’ll be joined with an epic live show featuring performances by Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth, Ozuna, and Ludacris and Cardi B who both have roles in the film. What, no Bow Wow? Other cast members will be in attendance, too.

Justin Lin returns to direct Fast & Furious 9, having been the guy who really put this franchise on the map. He previously directed Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, and Furious 6. He’s expected to also direct Fast & Furious 10 because this thing will probably roll on forever.

As for the plot, we have nothing really to go on. The team averted nuclear annihilation (Remember when the goal used to be to win a street race??) at the hands of the villainous Cipher (Charlize Theron), who ultimately got away. Cipher is being primed for her own spinoff, so maybe she returns to set that up? New cast additions include John Cena and Michael Rooker, while Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham will not be appearing as they have their own Hobbs & Shaw spinoff now.

Fast & Furious 9 opens May 22nd 2020.

WWE Superstar Edge To Hopefully Spear Kelsey Grammer In Heist Film ‘Money Plane’

The heist thriller Money Plane might be awful, but I don’t care because there’s the tiniest chance we’ll see the Rated-R Superstar spear Kelsey Grammer from 10000 feet in the air. Please, let it happen something like this.

Deadline reports that WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland aka Edge will star in Money Plane, which is sadly not a sequel to 1995’s Wesley Snipes/Woody Harrelson/Jennifer Lopez flick Money Train.  Copeland will be joined by Kelsey Grammer, Thomas Jane, and Denise Richards. Hopefully, they all catch a spear.

Directed by Andrew Lawrence, Money Plane “follows a professional thief (Copeland) who must rob an underworld criminal casino on an airplane to settle a debt with his ruthless employer (Grammer). While the heist unfolds in midair, the second man on the ground (Jane) uncovers a sinister double cross that threatens everything.”

Oh, this sounds stupid and I can’t wait.  Copeland has been killing it as an actor since an injury forced him into retirement. He currently plays Kjetill Flatnose in the long-running series Vikings, and played Atom Smasher in the second season of The Flash. Jane can be seen in the latest season of The Expanse, while Grammer is in theaters right now alongside Nicolas Cage in Grand Isle.

Amazon’s ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Series Casts Morfydd Clark As Young Galadriel

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV series isn’t expected to have a lot of familiar faces. You won’t see anybody from the Peter Jackson movies, for sure. But there will be at least some characters that fans of Jackson’s trilogy will recognize, and a big one has just been cast.

Variety reports actress Morfydd Clark has been cast in the role of Galadriel, the elvish noble previously played by Cate Blanchett. Clark is best known for playing Sister Clara on HBO’s His Dark Materials. She also had a small role in this year’s horror, Crawl, and will play Mina Harker in Netflix’s Dracula series. So she’s keeping very busy.

The appearance of Galadriel makes sense. Due to her Elven nature she’s extremely long-lived, and was a key figure during the Second Age, which is when the series is rumored to take place. That was the time when the evil Sauron was just beginning to acquire the newly-forged Rings of Power, with one kept in Galadriel’s possession.

With Will Poulter recently exiting the series, expect Amazon to start filling in the other roles pretty quickly as they prepare for production early next year

Lee Daniels To Direct Superhero Film ‘Stealth’ From ‘The Walking Dead’ Creator Robert Kirkman

As we enter 2020 and a post-Endgame landscape, superhero movies are bigger than ever. But they’re also more complex, telling stories that deconstruct the genre or explore topics beyond the simple battle of good vs. evil. And that makes this fertile ground for Stealth, an upcoming superhero film from an unlikely director: Lee Daniels.

Daniels is set to direct Stealth, a screen adaptation of the upcoming comic book by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and artist Marc Silvestri. The comic, which will publish its first issue next March, centers on the titular Detroit hero who has been waging war on crime for decades, only now he’s gone too far. The cause of his dangerous new tactics is a secret battle with Alzheimer’s, and only one person knows what is really happening; his son, reporter Tony Barber.

The script is by Oscar-nominated Children of Men and Iron Man writers Hawk Osby and Mark Fergus. Daniels is best known as creator of hit Fox series Empire, and for his Oscar-nominated drama Precious. He also directed the hit film The Butler.  [Deadline]
