‘Misty Green’ Trailer: Chris Rock’s Comeback Drama Stars Rosalind Eleazar, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, And Anna Kendrick

Chris Rock hasn’t directed a movie since Top Five way back in 2014, and despite a few odd diversions (Saw spinoff Spiral, a small role in Amsterdam), he’s largely stayed out of the spotlight. Rock is back behind the camera for Misty Green, which will have its world premiere at TIFF in September. Appropriately enough, the A24 drama is about a Hollywood star attempting a comeback.

The film stars Slow Horses and Missing You breakout, Rosalind Eleazar, as an actress looking to revive her once-promising career after reconnecting with someone from her past.

Rock directs from a script he also wrote, and you can tell it’s likely coming from a place of personal experience. It doesn’t take much for Hollywood to leave you behind in the dust. Staying relevant in show business is tough, especially for Black actors and filmmakers.

Eleazar is surrounded by a top-notch cast that includes Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, Anthony Anderson, and more.

SYNOPSIS: Years after her Hollywood breakthrough, a talented actress whose career has stalled fights for her second act.

A24 will release Misty Green in theaters this October.
