The Blair Witch Project made found footage horrors popular, Paranormal Activity took it to the next level, but nothing is scarier than real life. We’ve been trained to think the worst of body camera footage because, let’s face it, when we see any it’s always attached to a cop doing something awful. Well, take that honest feeling of dread and elevate it into something nighmarish and paranoia-inducing and you’ve got Shudder’s new thriller, Bodycam.
Directed by and co-written by Night of the Reaper director Brandon Christensen, Bodycam has a simple premise: two cops respond to a domestic disturbance call, only for the situation to explode out of control. Following their natural instincts to cover it up, they soon discover that the body cameras aren’t the only things watching.
Leading the cast are Jaime Callica and Sean Rogerson, joined by Catherine Lough Haggquist, Angel Prater, and Keegan Connor Tracy. Ryan Christensen co-wrote the screenplay.
Synopsis: When two police officers show up to investigate a domestic dispute, a startling escalation leads to a tragic accident. Not wanting to be crucified by the public, the officers attempt to cover it up – only to reveal that their body cameras aren’t the only things watching them.
Bodycam hits Shudder on March 13th!
