‘Man Of Tomorrow’: Lars Eidinger Is Brainiac In James Gunn’s Superman/Lex Luthor Teamup Movie

James Gunn has found his Brainiac. Gunn announced on social media that he has cast German actor Lars Eidinger to play the villain Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow. The film will find archrivals Superman and Lex Luthor teaming up to face the high-tech baddie.

This will be Brainiac’s first appearance in a live-action film, after fans had been clamoring for it to happen. Brainiac is a hyper-intelligent android from the planet Colu, and he’s obsessed with obtaining all knowledge in the universe. Naturally, this places him at odds with both Superman and Luthor, who must combine their various strengths to stop this new threat. Don’t be shocked if Brainiac shrinks down Metropolis or something like that.

Eidinger will be sharing the screen with returning stars David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult. He can be seen right now alongside George Clooney in Netflix’s acclaimed film Jay Kelly.

Gunn wrote on Instagram, “In our worldwide search for Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow, Lars Eidinger rose to the top. Welcome to the DCU, Lars.”

Man of Tomorrow begins production in April and will hit theaters on July 9th 2027.
