I’m happy to offer our DC area readers the chance to attend a special early screening of one of my favorite movies of the year, Rental Family, starring Brendan Fraser! Directed by HIKARI, the film also stars Takehiro Hira, Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Gorman, and Akira Emoto. The event will include fun activities, including a photo op, origami station, and a chance to win giveaways.
Synopsis: Set in modern-day Tokyo, RENTAL FAMILY follows an American actor (Brendan Fraser) who struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese “rental family” agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. As he immerses himself in his clients’ worlds, he begins to form genuine bonds that blur the lines between performance and reality. Confronting the moral complexities of his work, he rediscovers purpose, belonging, and the quiet beauty of human connection.
The screening takes place Wednesday, November 19th at Regal Majestic. Activities begin at 6:00pm with the movie starting at 7:00pm. If you’d like to attend, complete the Google doc form here!
