‘The Family Plan 2’ Trailer: Mark Wahlberg Goes Toe-To-Toe With Kit Harington In Apple’s Action-Comedy Sequel

The Family Plan? Didn’t I review that like, last month, or something? No? It was in 2023? Time flies, especially when you’ve completely forgotten the movie existed. That said, the Mark Wahlberg/Michelle Monaghan action-comedy was a surprising hit for Apple TV+, and it’s no surprise that they quickly ordered a sequel, cleverly titled The Family Plan 2. Give the marketing folks a raise.

Wahlberg returns as Dan Morgan, a suburban dad with a secret past as a government assassin. This time around, it’s the Christmas holiday, and the perfect European vacation he had planned for the family gets disrupted by Kit Harington, as a mysterious figure from Dan’s past who has some unfinished business.

Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, and Van Crosby return as the rest of the family, along with Peter Lindsey, Theodore Lindsey, and Reda Elazouar.

Simon Cellan Jones returns as director. He and Wahlberg are clearly hitting it off. They filled the time between movies by working together on Arthur the King.

SYNOPSIS: In “The Family Plan 2,” it’s the holiday season and Dan (Mark Wahlberg) has planned the perfect vacation for his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their kids to celebrate overseas—until a mysterious figure from his past (Kit Harington) shows up with unfinished business. An international game of cat-and-mouse ensues as Dan and his family battle, bicker, and bond their way through a series of bank heists, holiday hijinks, and car chases amid scenic European terrain.

The Family Plan 2 hits Apple TV+ on November 21st.
